Jocelyn Stewart

And now these three things remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. ~ 1 Corinthians 13:13 (NIV)

Jocelyn was a kind, loving girl with a smile that would brighten up a room. She had a deep love of animals, especially dogs. When we agreed to get her a dog of her own, she didn’t want just any dog, she wanted a rescued dog. When Amani (Swahili for ‘Peace’) came into her life she was so happy. It was because of her love and kindness towards life that we knew she would agree to be an organ and tissue donor. The idea for the ‘Jocelyn Stewart Foundation, A Peace of Home’ actually came from Jocelyn’s want of a place where she could go to feel safe and get the help she needed. Jocelyn suffered with a mental illness. She struggled for a long time to get the resources and support she needed to overcome her battle. Sadly, she lost her battle and felt her only other option was to end her suffering. We’re working towards opening a supportive living environment where people with suicidal ideation can get the help they need. We offer in home support programs, 24/7 staffing and wellness recovery aimed to building hope and empowerment.
